President’s Message for 2023
Dear Brother and Sister Members,
Greetings and Happy New Year! I would like to say thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve as your President of the Nassau County Police Emerald Society. I look forward to a great and productive 2 years in this role. I have been a member of the Emerald Society for over 8 years, and served on the board for 6 of them. My law enforcement career has been with the Nassau County Police Department. Starting in the 4th pct, and moving to the Bureau of Special Operations (BSO) in 2019. Irish culture and heritage has always been a large presence in law enforcement, and I take great pride in being a part of that tradition. We encompass multiple agencies including, state, county, villages and federal. It truly is honor to be a part of such a large organization all bonded by both a law enforcement family, and Irish culture family.
I would like to say a huge thank you to my predecessor, Sean Rourke. His hard work and dedication to the Emerald Society was a tremendous asset. He will continue to work with us and help out serving on the board of directors.
Our 2023-2024 executive board is as follows:

The past couple years have been challenging in the Covid era. Things are finally getting back to “normal” and we are in full swing again. We are always looking for past, current and new members to get involved. Come down to a meeting or to one of our events. We always welcome new ideas and look to expand upon what we are currently doing. Our meetings are the 3rd Wednesday of every month. St. Patrick’s Day will be coming up soon! We have several events we participate in, in addition to throughout the year. If you haven’t marched in the NYC parade, it truly is an
incredible experience. You can get information on our meetings or events at ncpdemerald.org or our Facebook account. Let’s make it a great year and look forward to seeing everyone soon!
Sincerely,
Scott C. McPhail
