Dear Members and Friends,

It is with great pleasure and pride that I write to you as the incoming President of the Police Emerald Society of Nassau County.  I have been a member of this society since 2005 and was appointed to the executive board in 2009.  Thankfully through the years I had great examples set by the past Presidents and look forward to improving our society as one of the largest in the county.

The incoming Board of Officers is a well rounded group from different Police agencies in Nassau County.  I am very proud to have them serve with me because they have proven over the years their dedication to the society’s success and future growth.  Together we will continue to work hard on behalf our members to keep improving our society over the next two years.

Our society was founded in 1963.  We are the largest police fraternal organization within Nassau County.  We encompass members from Nassau county police, all the villages, and other law enforcement agencies.  Our goal is promote Irish heritage in law enforcement and support charitable and cultural causes.  We are a charter member of the Easter Monday Monument Committee,  members of the Grand Council of United Emerald Societies and a charter member of the National Conference of Law Enforcement Emerald Societies.

2017 brings us a full agenda planned for our members and friends.  We have our 200 club in January, In March we will participate in the NYC Saint Patrick’s Day parade as well as the Farmingdale Saint Patrick’s Day parade, in May we will be down in Washington D.C. for police week and attending the NCLEES meeting, also in May we have our Bi-Annual Installation Dinner Dance at the Cresthollow Country Club.  Sometime in the summer we will also be running our annual fishing trip. Last year thanks to past President Mike Pitcher we ran one of our biggest fundraisers to date when we did a concert at Mulchay’s featuring Shilelagh Law.   It was a huge success and they are looking forward to playing for us again. Lastly in December we will have our Christmas party.

What makes this all possible is your continued support of this great organization.  Enclosed is a dues card, your 2017 membership cards and a window sticker. Please return your dues $25 as soon as possible.  Please spread the word about our society to all your friends and new personnel in your command we are always looking for new members to join.  Our monthly meeting will be held on the third Wednesday of the month upstairs at Wantagh Inn at 8pm.  Once again thank you for your support.  I look forward to seeing you at our next meeting.
